Recently bought a new Brinsea incubator. Set the eggs, all was perfect for 6 days. Then, went to check on the incubator and hear a weird sound and knew something wasn't right. The fan had broken, the motor of the fan more specifically. Has anyone ever had this happen? It still spun but only at maybe 10-20% of its usually speed. I was able to get a new unit in under 24 hours but am still somewhat concerned about eggs. Thankfully the heat and turner still worked fine, but without the fan the temp was registering 99.5 at top of incubator away from eggs so I know the eggs were slightly cooler than they would have liked to be for that time. I was also able to get Brinsea to send me another fan so I have a back-up for the future, still frustrating though.

That must be so frustrating! I haven't had a problem with mine, except my turner was missing a screw, which they sent very quickly.

Sorry to hear about your fan, but the eggs should be just fine. When are they due and what are you hatching?

Frustrating to say they least, especially since I just upgraded from my styrofoam incubator thinking that this would be an even more hands off approach. I'm fairly confident it was just random occurance though. I have 12 blue laced red Wyandottes and 12 bantam Cochin frizzles in there now.
