She's two months old. Silkie. Slightly swollen and leaky. I use Terramycin and saline wash. What is it and what do I do??? She acts perfect and is super energetic and is otherwise just fine. Please help.

How long have you been treating her?

Have you seen any discharge, bubbly eyes, nasal discharge, sneezing, or wheezing?

Absent any of that, it could be a bug bite, a peck injury, or a touch of conjunctivitis.

Ive been treating her for a month. Her eye leaks when she is active and sometimes gets bubbly when she is running around and jumping a lot. No other discharge. No sneezing or anything. How do i help conjunctivitis?

Well, there's no way to know for sure unless you have her tested at the vet to rule out some kind of respiratory infection.

Lots of things in chickens can cause swollen bubbly eyes... from conjunctivitis to eye worm to Infectious Bronchitis.

Is there any way you could take her to get tested?

There are no vets around that specialize in chickens or farm animals at all. Should i try a regular vet?

It seems to me that your regular local vet could culture the eye to see what is growing, if anything, in the eye. A culture and sensitivity taken with a cotton swab would suggest what antibiotic to use if somethings grows. She could even have some problem with a tear duct that might not be serious.

I took the silkie to a vet pretty far away, turns out hes just fine! he has nasal drainage problems, a lifelong issue for him most likely. Not threatening! Thanks everyone for your help!!
