Airsoft Gun, Traps, and Cats?

Hey Everyone. There's been a cat stalking my chickens, not letting them outside the barn; and killing some of the smaller vulnerable ones.

We've decided to end this now, and want to either get a trap or an airsoft gun. We don't want to ship, because another one of our chickens died yesterday and we are afraid of more. Please send ideas, thanks.

If you can get a raccoon sized Havahart live trap and bait it with sardines you should be able to catch it. A lot of feed or hardware stores carry them.

I agree I have caught many cats with those what are you going to do once you catch it

I recommend you do not shoot the cat, unless you intend to KILL the cat.

At least in the USA, trying to hurt the cat just enough that is will stay away is usually illegal. (It's considered "animal cruelty.") But in many areas, you are allowed to kill the cat because it's a predator.

It may not make sense, and you should certainly check the laws in your area because they might be different, but that's how it is in much of the USA-- killing a predator is fine but injuring it is not.
