Sick chicks or nothing to worry about??? plz help
An occasional sneeze is nothing to worry about, but sneezing often, combined with nasal drainage is probably a respiratory disease, such as infectious bronchitis (IB) or mycoplasma (MG). If you see eye drainage or swelling around eyes, that is more likely MG. Tylan and oxytetracycline are commonly used to treat MG, while bronchitis is a virus that has to run it's course. IB will make carriers of the flock for 1 year, while MG makes carriers for life. Hopefully it is just dust from the bedding and feed, but keep an eye on them. Pictures of the chicks might help in guessing ages. Here is a good reference about common diseases including the two above:
Chicks can have a lot of different droppings, including the occasional cecal dropping which looks like caramel or chocolate syrup. Put some Probios powder or probiotics in their water a few days a week to help their immunity. Watch for symptoms of coccidiosis symptoms, which are common in chicks 3-20 weeks old, and include sitting hunched, lethargy, mucus or blood in poop, and not eating. Corid is good for treatment.
