I am beginning to worry that I may have a rooster. the brownish one (Gabby) has been quite aggressive, pecking at the children and me. She is also much more standoff-ish than the black and white one. (Molly). Also, Gabby's comb is much redder than Molly's. I know these pictures aren't great. my girls are getting very attached, though and we can't have a rooster in our city.:(

Thanks for your help!

I'm sorry to say you're correct, Gabby is all boy.

Sorry, looks like a rooster. If by pecking at you, he is actually sneaking up behind you to do it, please think about getting rid of him sooner than later, especially with the children. I've seen that escalate to spurring very quickly.

I have an 8 week old cockerel who has similar red splashing on his body compared to yours and is very upright like the 2nd picture. I fear Gabby might be Gabe.

I have 2 that I'm wondering about too. Easter Eggers are a challenge! I already have a buff rooster that's a pain and we don't need more. :) they are about 17 or 18 weeks old. No crowing that I've heard, but some roo-ish tussles. Any input would be appreciated!
