A few questions...its day 22 and I'm so nervous....my first hatch.... sorry
. I keep reading about lockdown, is that the period between days 18 and 21
I'm not hearing any peeps.... Should I be
When I candle them I see the air sack and a big dark shape but it's not moving and I've read a lot of posts indicating movement.

Thanks in advance

Kathy

By day 22 you should at least see some internal pipsif they are going to make it out. Usually you can spot some movement at hatch time, especially in the area of the air cell. It doesn't look good, but you never know. My first hatch my sole survivor hatched day 24.

Sorry it's not looking too promising.

You can do a water float test. Maybe the temps wss off. By day 23 if you have no pips, candle and make a decision. Something went wrong I fear.

thank you. What is water float?

I am concerned for two reasons...first because the temp was only 92 the first few days... and second because we candled them on day 20, I didn't know better, in fact just read it tonight. Saw movement on day 20 when candeling but now reading that they shouldn't be candled I'm afraid I blew it

xs 2. Candling, (unless you have dirty hands or drop one.) will NOT have any negative effect on them.
92 the first few days would delay the hatch if they are going to hatch.

Ok... Based on the directions on the awesome float post... I think I may still have viable babies... But before I get too excited can someone look at these pics for me...

They floated..and 6 of them just the air sac was above water. 2 were more sideways than straight up and down but still just a small portion.

One was rocking... Still no peeps

Please look at pics and tell me if I am "reading" them properly
