My wife and I got 2 baby chickens when they were about 6 weeks old. Both are hens. They are now about a year old now and neither have ever laid an egg .I'm not exactly sure what breed they are, they are black and I've been told they are more than likely game hens. Now that we have plenty of daylight and the temperature has warmed up I fully expected to start seeing eggs. I built them nesting boxes and placed them in their coupe but they usually just sit on top of the boxes. I have tried many times to put hay, sticks, and other materials inside their coupe for them to build nest out of as well. They just scratch at it and start throwing it outside of the coupe. They just refuse to nest. Does anyone have any idea what he problem could be?
