Is 3 roosters ok for 28 hens?.

I am raising baby chicks and i need to know how many roos i should have for 28 hens im wanting to keep three but i don't know if that would work i don't want to have to kill any of my roos when they get older so what do i do?.
 
From a m/f ratio, you are within the generally accepted guideline - but that is not the only factor that will determine whether your flock will be peaceful with these numbers or not. What breed(s) are the roosters? How much total space is allotted to your birds? Are you planning to separate your birds into defined flocks that are managed in separate areas or run them together at all times? Ultimately, the only way to determine whether this flock will be able to exist well together is to see how things play out as they mature as even with the right ratio of m/f, the "right" amount of space and combining "generally peaceful breeds" the individual personalities of the birds can come in and take what seems like the perfect equation and rewrite the results completely.
 
3 would be fine I think, but you don't need any roosters if you want eggs so you don't really have to worry about that...
 
I have a brown leghorn roo and 2 buff orpingtons but i let my flock free range completely i live way out in the country but i have a fence to protect them from predators i close when they go to roost and i let them out as soon as they get up its a big job but worth it when you get lots of fresh eggs in the morning at this moment i only have 4 chickens but i recently got 31 chicks that were supposed to be all hens but i got 4 roos out of the deal getting rid of one if i have to get rid of two i will but would rather not if i don't have to. and i would like to have fertilized eggs so if i need to i can let my hens hatch out some if a predator attacks.
 
Just keep in mind, you need to keep an eye on them. A friend of mine just re-homed one of hers due to the 2 roosters fighting. She even tried to add more hens, I don't remember how manyou she had but they still wanted to fight it out
