Chick leg injury??!

Hey there! I have a chick that is not doing well. i am feeding medicated feed from Tractor Supply, my brooder is proper temperature, they all have adequate food and water, and the brooder is quite large. so, i don't know what to do... i have already lost 3 chicks since last week!! i was thinking maybe a leg injury? she is looking okay-ish, and will drink if i help her, she also will hobble around the brooder but mostly just sleeps. i was wondering if anybody knew what it is or what i should do... i don't really want to give medication as i am trying to raise them as naturally as possible. A lot of people in my previous thread said it may have been coccidiosis that killed my other chicks, i disagree.my chicks have never been exposed to any other chickens in their entire life (1 week) and their brooder is very clean and dry. any info would be appreciated! :jumpy

P.S. yes, she is acting like her leg is hurt

Is there something she could have hurt her leg on? What kind of brooder do you have?
Are you hatching your own eggs? Where did you get your chicks?

I don't think there is anything that she could have gotten hurt on... I have a large, homemade brooder that is rectangular, i don't hatch my own eggs and i got my chicks from Meyer Hatchery. Did that answer your questions?:yiipchick

P.S. she is doing okay today, she appears a little stunted in her growth... maybe that's it?

I have heard good things about Meyers. I do not know. Sometimes chicks are born with deformities that do stunt snd sometime kill them.
If she is doing well let her be, if she continues to act lethargic you might try to force feed her honey water and keep her seperate, so the others do not injure her further. Another thing recommended to me with my sick chicks was yoke soup, hardboiled egg yoke, a bit of salt, a bit of honey and water, mushed to a slurry. Then fed with a dropper if wont eat on own. Then keep warm. She might pop out of it.

Hello! the little chick we have been talking about is doing good. She is just smaller than the others and is being bullied a bit... i had another chick that was like that too, but she pulled through just fine! Thank you for your help. :weee

No, unless it is just the heat lamp and their poo combined with her dead body. Sorry, I feel your pain, having a heck of a time myself with keeping chick's alive.

Thank you! i am also having a hard time keeping them alive as well... i am giving them some Big 'Ol Bird pro-biotic supplement so maybe that will help :)

Could it be paralysis rather than an injury?  Were they walking on their hocks before they died?  I lost birds to spoiled feed.  The bottom of the bag got wet and that was all it took.
