Got some new chickies Saturday. Handful of Black SexLink, Rhode Island red, and some Barred rocks.

... This is not looking like a barred rock to me...

So... Whatcha think? I'm at a loss. They only offer three breeds. But it seems i've gotten a fourth somehow?

You may have ended up with a barnyard mix. ( they are the BEST) When it grows up a little you will start seeing what it resembles most. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CHICK..
WISHING YOU BEST...

Thank you much for the well wishes. Unfortunately, our group of layers (11 of them) was shortened to two recently. Let us say, my neighbors are in serious hot water with animal cruelty charges as we speak :(

But I am trying to stay positive. Noticed two of these little gals. Grey in color. Cute little dudettes.

When the new chicks are of age, they will join my remaining two gals, a Barred Rock, and a Gold Laced Wyandotte.
They are both very skittish at the moment or I would post photos, but letting them reacclimate to their surrroundings.

Did someone hurt your chickens? That's so horrible! :( I actually had a barred rock a few years ago that got into some bug poison the neighbours threw over the fence and she ate it & passed away. :(

So sorry about your babies! :(

But like a said, I've had barred rocks and got them all at 2 days old & she definitely doesn't look like one. But she's a very pretty chick indeed! :)

You have a gold laced Wyandotte? Cool! I have 3 Rhode Island Reds (one of them will be 7 years old this year! the others are 4 months), a Silver Laced Wyandotte, and 2 red stars.

She's not perfect, but she's my girl. Tried to snap a quick photo of her. She was in the process of her 'duck and run!' pose

Aww, she's so pretty! I had a gold laced Wyandotte too named Lady, but she was being mean to my oldest & I gave her to my friend. She actually just sent me a picture of her, She's doing super great with her birds! :)

She's so pretty though! My Shimmer (my silver laced Wyandotte) does that a lot too when I go to put her up or pick her up. I normally have to tempt her with food to get her to come over! :D

According to the store, they also sell Blue Andalusia chicks, but had been "sold out".... In thinking that may be what they are?

Side note... One of my barred rocks is looking mighty pale compared to the others... White barring on wings is much thicker than the others.
