Blooie's Blankie Fort

A Cream Legbar has just joined the family! She/he looks kinda goopy and the inside of the shell looked really nasty, but the little stinker is active and already making friends with Little Yokel. I truly did not have any hope for any other eggs but the Green Magnolia and the Olive Egger, so this one was a total surprise!!!
Oh good love legbars! Especiallt the auto sexing part. :woot

The ones that surprise you are the funnest! Congrats. Keep em coming!!

As it stands right now out of 26 eggs put in lock down 20 have hatched . Three didn't pip at all,and it looks like another one died during the zip process. I have one that has a tiny pip in it, but has made no progress all day long.
The final one has a hole in it about a little bigger than a dime. I can see its head and beak moving, but it can't seem to get into position to zip. When I get home in the morning if its still alive I will try to assist it. By then it will be about 28 hours like that, so it should have absorbed its yoke by then. I've never done it before, so I'm a little nervous about it.

Keep it warm and wet...shallow dish with hot water soaked papr towel under egg,
work under a warm utility lamp, use qtip to moisten membranes....if it bleeds back off.
Had 2 failures and 1 success with assisting.

Pics? Oh, you mean like THIS? Yeah! Noticed the teeniest little pip abut 12:30 in the morning. Woke up to demanding peeping at 4:45. Figured it must be close to being zipped all the way around so we got up and turned on the light. Yep, it was close, alright!

7 more in there to go!

He's/she's a little Olive Egger. And I'm gonna name him George and I'm gonna feed 'em and love 'em and .......oh, wait.....little punch drunk here. Name is Yokel. I joked with the guy who had the eggs given to me that I'd name my first after him - so here ya go, @LocalYokel
Do I detect a hint of Warner Brothers in your joy?
