tetracycline

I have a hen that has a respiratory infection. It was advised to give her tetracycline which has helped. We are on day 5 of the treatment but her poo is still very watery. Would the meds make it this way? She seems back to normal other wise. Maybe there's something else going on? TIA

I have used tetracycline with excellent results. Be sure to follow directions. After 5 days the med should be stopped.  How is her breathing? My suggestion is to stop any high water content foods and observe closely.  Should symptoms continue consider other options.

Watery poop can be caused by numerous things.

Could you post a picture?

The directions say to use 7-14 days. Her breathing, eating & drinking are all back to normal. The only problem that she still has is the watery poo.

Ignore this then. Obviously what I had is not quite the same even though it was tetracycline.

Photo, if possible!

Worms are usually the culprit behind watery poops.

When was the last time you wormed your flock?

They have not been wormed yet. That was going to be my next step after getting her feeling better.

An excellent next step, I feel.

Hope that clears it up. :)
