I am new to this forum. I live in NH and have not had chickens for 30 years!

In the process of getting some Barnevelder and Crested Cream Legbar chicks with the eventual goal of egg and chick sales. (I am getting 12 chicks total and then when they start laying decide which 8-10 I will be keeping and which placing)

Purchased 2 -3 week old Barnevelders yesterday. They were hatched by a local NPIP poultry farm from eggs shipped in from a NPIP farm in Oklahoma

I'm a dog breeder/exhibitor of 31 years and my husband calls me a "Purebred snob" (sorry) so I do want my chickens to be good examples of their breeds. Maybe not show quality but good.

I do not know how much chicks of different breeds change feather wise from 3 weeks to adults but I am thinking my pullet is too barred at this point? The Roo seems to fit the photos I have seen fine so far

Thank You

Thanks to TLS Ranch and a bit of internet research my pullet is a Partridge colored Barnevelder instead of the Black laced (and I even found a heritage breed place that specifically sells them - who knew LOL and no not ordering more this color :) )
