I will say the Orpington Roosters develop a lot slower than any other rooster I have had, mine didn't start crowing until I had already determined they were roosters like 5 months old or more...and if it's lavender even the coloring doesn't help to determine. post a pic or just wait it out!What did these end up being? I have one which er still don't know if it's a roo or pullet. No crowing, not sure if laying. The roos we have dance around the lavender, and sometimes grab at the tail, but the lavender is much bigger i think they're afraid of it lol. We've had ours since September, we were told it was around 3.5 months old then, so it should be crowing by now if it were a roo, don't ya think? As soon as i get a good picture, I'll post it.
