Hello BYC,

This is my first post. I have a few bantam chicks, 3 are roughly 3 weeks old, and one is 7 weeks old. Any help identifying type and gender would be much appreciated.

I can't get to your pictures. Is there any way you can upload and link them like using photo bucket or something? Your links say I'm required to log in

Three weeks is kinda too early to tell, but I can give you educated guesses:
Chick 1, I am unsure of the breed but I will guess it's female going solely by the pattern on its wing feathers.
Chicks 2 and 3, I will go ahead and call Red Pyle OEGB, and tentatively 2 is female, 3 is male.

That fourth one is definitely a cockerel. How does he usually hold his tail?

Updated the photos.

#1.. best I can tell from what I've seen on other's post is a Partridge Cochin??

Between 2 and 3, the wings sit differently on each chick. #2 is more parallel to the body, and #3 the wings sit higher and the tips almost touch. Is that a sign of something?

#4, I don't know what type, and the tail is typically like you see in the photo and not upright. I have seen it w/ upright tail feathers, but rarely.

#1, yup, seems likely. I don't know whether the males have patterns as babies.

#2 and #3, I would guess it doesn't mean anything, but I could be wrong.

#4 Maybe a black tailed buff Old English Game.
