Just got my first chicks for my birthday!

Thread Starter

Hi. My name is Randa, and I'm from Baytown, TX.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you get your first chicken?

Yes, yesterday.

(2)  How many chickens do you have right now?

4, but 18 on the way next month

(3)  What breeds do you have?

Currently: 2 Golden Sex Links, 2 Golden Wyandotte

Next Month: 5 White Leghorns, 5 Barred Rock, 5 RIR, 3 White Crested Black Polish (not sexed)

(4)  How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Researching the different breeds online, and came across it.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Baking, crafting, horse riding, working out, sports (MMA, roller derby)

(6)  Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I live on 2.75 acre patch of land with my fiance, Dustin, our indoor mini pigs, Buttercup and Westley, and our horse, Hickory.

I am an electrical engineer, but hope to be a stay at home mom eventually.

We just started with the chickens, and our next project is a garden. We hope to live a more sustainable and healthy lifestyle and look forward to raising our kids and grandkids in such a way.

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
