Yesterday morning at 5am I woke up and as usual went to check the bators!! Well my one incuview DC all in one thermostat and heater unit died on me sometime between 11:30pm and 5am. The eggs were cool for sure and the temp said 74!!!! Ahh, anyway, I have another unit right next to it and had a full load of eggs. I, of course took immediate action and placed the cool eggs in the working incubator. Now of course it's way past full!
Incubator warehouse has been awesome though!! They are sending a replacement unit for me. In the meantime I have too many eggs in the other incubator(so much that I am having to pile them on top of the each other.
My question is how long will it take for me to tell if the eggs survived?
They were on day 4 so they would be on day 5 today. If I candle the eggs that were transferred tonight will I be able to tell clearly if they have a blood ring?
The replacement won't be here till Friday maby Saturday. So I am having to constantly open the bator to rotate them, while still keeping the other eggs in the auto turner.
Just FYI I do know that all 18 eggs had started veining. I built 2 clear incubators so my kids and I wouldn't have to take them out to candle all the time, we now just do it through our incubator!!!!
Here is my dead incubator!
