Expecting Mother

We ended up bringing the boys with us so that they could pick out the chicks they liked. Unfortunately the woman already had a dozen selected for us and we were only planning to take ten. We ended up taking the full dozen because we could just leave two behind. There is one missing from the pics because we are going to let my niece name her and she hasn't been over yet. We don't know what kinda they are but the woman had purchased 50 from Ideal Poultry in Texas and didn't want to keep all of them. They are ten days old.

We are all obsessed. We spent so much time watching them in their brooder. My husband and I even spent the past half an hour watching them tonight when we should be going to bed. I LOVE the way the lay on their belly with their necks stretched out or their head turned onto their wing. It is so cute. I am sure once they get bigger they'll sleep on a roost but for now they are the sweetest little babies.
