New chickens

Hello!

This past weekend I purchased four 18 week old hens (Red Sex Links).  I already have two older hens who are in their own coop and used to me, therefore when I let them roam they let me either pick them up or herd them right back into the coop.  However I'm looking for tips/advice on letting the newer hens out of the coop, they are not in a fenced in area but there's lots of land.

You will need to keep them penned for a week or two to get bonded to the coop. You may have troubles just adding hens of that age to your established hens. You may need to pen them separately but within sight of the older ones for a while before trying to combine them.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.
