My silkie decided she didn't want to be a mommy anymore at day 16 of setting.... They had been cold for at least a day ( It's 40 degrees here in VA) so I brought them in and put them in a bator, I wasn't sure they were alive, but now that they've warmed up, I can see one moving. (There are only two). So my question is, does going cold delay a day in the hatch cycle? Tomorrow is supposed to be day 18 for lockdown, but should I let them go one more day to catch up and then put them in lockdown on day 19? Any help would sure be appreciated

It can, yes. If the air cells are ok I'd still go ahead and do lockdown late day 18, but it won't hurt if you wait until day 19 either.

Today is supposed to be the day when my chicks hatch... I am so impatient! I've been playing chick peep sounds from you tube against the bator. I haven't seen one ounce of movement. On the first day of lockdown my temp spiked to 104, I don't know how long it was that high; it was between 6am and 9 am sometime. I really hope I get at least one chick, this will be my second attempt to rescue eggs that were abandoned by my broody silkie. She is NOT allowed to sit on any more eggs.

Nothing. I went to bed last night and the humidity was 70, got up this morning and it was 50. I think these eggs are a lost cause. Now I'm realizing that it's not me, it's the incubator. This thing is pure junk! I'm still gonna give it another day though and see what happens.....

Well, this morning I unplugged the incubator and pitched the eggs. They were both fully developed! They weren't turned the proper way... I think they died when the heat spiked in the incubator. I am so totally bummed. One was yellow and one was black. They were mutt "barnyard classics" from my other chickens.Goodbye forever, styrofoam incubator. May you burn in hell

Sorry to hear that.
