Hi from Ohio

Thread Starter

We are new to chickens but my kids really want to do 4h and I really wanted some birds. Lol. Daddy got out voted. My daughters are enjoying the process of learning all about them and their life cycles. We currently have some eggs in the incubator that a friend generously gave us. I can't wait to read and learn more. We are in the middle of the country on 10 acres so they will have loads of room but we have a lot of predators that we get to deal with. Hopefully we can do our best to keep them all safe. Excited to embark on this new adventure as a family.

Hi and :welcome - glad that you have joined us. I'm sure hubby will come round to the idea of chickens soon enough.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. http://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around the run. Chickens are huge ball of feathered personalities. They have a way of wrapping you around their claws. Your daddy will come around. gig.gif
Did a moth know that the flame was going to change her life forever, or did she simply fly towards that heated embrace, knowing it would offer her something she couldn't give herself? In the end, the answer didn't really matter. The moth had never wanted the choice. -Joey W. Hill-

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
