I just hatched out a batch or Rhode Island reds in my little giant incubator. This chick is one of about 16 that have hatched so far, but he looks a little off to me.

His head is shaped oddly, and one side is larger than the other... Almost like he had a growth or something, but it look like he is just minor ly deformed? I don't know if these pictures actually show how different he looks, but it's pretty obvious to me, and the other chicks too.... :(

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it because of genetics or incubating abnormalities?

It does look like the right side sits up more than the left. Is it just the way its down has fluffed, or can you feel something odd going on there when you touch it?

Hmm, definitely strange! I've never had anything like this, but other than look a little like Frankenstein, it appears to be bright eyed and healthy. I'd keep an eye on it, but I don't think there's much you can do for it. I think its adorable :)
