Hi and welcome to BYC. I'm sure you have looked at the Coop section, but feel free to share you photo on the "Coops and Runs" forum if you would like advice or reassurance.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. http://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area, which can be helpful (just type the name of your state in the search box).

All the best

Rule of thumb is  to allow 4-5 sq.feet per bird inside the coop  excluding nest boxes and roosts.   In the outdoor run each bird should have  10 sq.feet   Chickens  HATE to be crowded and react badly to it.

I have 12 birds including 2 roosters. They free roam across my acre. This is just with the intention of getting them out if my barn.

Welcome to BYC! I'm glad you joined us! :)

I set fire to the rain! Watch it pour as I, touched your face. Well it burn while I cried, because I heard it screaming out your name. And I threw us into flames. I knew that was the last time, the last time...I set fire to the rain! -Adele
