Do you ever notice if the younger chicks wind up being hens or roo's depending on how wide their too hat is? Some of my chicks seem to have a bigger, rounder puff then some seem to have a smaller patch that stands higher.??
On the white crested varieties, the messy hairdo will usually mean a rooster, a more controlled one a pullet, others like buff and black laced, they both have messy hair, you will notice wattles developing on roosters sooner.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

I brake for squirrels.

Some of my birds.

Ahhh, good to know! I've only had laced, so that explains why I never noticed a difference lol
