incubator help again.. :/

It should be. You can put bacitrcin or non pain relief neosporin if you'd like to keep bacteria out. It's just a little membrane from the cord left over. Should dry right up and the "navel" should close fine.
Thanks.. how long does it usually take for them to get moving good.. she is all dryed out but she is not moving well.. she is having the most trouble holding her head up... it looks like her head is to heavy for her body.. I am just worried about her being able to eat and drink..

sorry for all the questions.. just worried.. now that the baby is out of the shell I am just worried about her not getting enough to eat or drink.

It's different for different chicks. Some come out active and running around in minutes, others seem to take forever to get on their feet. I keep sav a chick electrolyte in my water the first couple days after hatch.

You dont have to worry about them eating at this point. While I don't susbscribe to the letting them stay in the bator 2-3 days, They do have time to get rested up. If it doesn't show improvement after a few hours you can try offering it water with electrolytes, nutri drench or sugar water.

she is moving around more now in short bursts it seems.. she will hold her head up and try to stand up.. it is a show... she is not drinking yet. I tryed the electrolight water a little bit on my finger she was not really interested in it.. I have her under the lamp now.. want to keep her warm but I don't want to give that baldy head of hers a sunburn. :)

When should I get worried about her not wanting to drink? being under the lamp and her not drinking.. I don't want to dehydrate her... sorry to be a bother again.. when I got my other hens they were a bit older.. have never had to go through all this worry.. :/

she is not looking so good to me.. she is moving less.. she only makes a sound when I pick her up.. I tryed forcing her to drink with a tiny syringe I have she took some of it but she is still not moving much.. she was laying on her back at one point with her legs in the air.. not sure why she would do that.. I am afraid she might not make it through the night.. :(

She died.... :( :( :(

Sorry to hear that. It's harder when they hatch and don't make it.
