Hello Everyone,

We are Matt and Lettie from San Jose, CA. One of us (Matt) is new to raising chickens, while the other (Lettie) had chickens while growing up in rural Sonoma county. We are glad to join this online community, and have already picked up good tips. We were about to locate our coop in our side yard, until we found information on this site that said this would be illegal in San Jose. We would hate to get a visit from the SWAT team, so this was good to know.

Hi MyMillieFleur,

We have an Ameraucana, a Black Australorp, and 2 Buff Orpingtons. I hope I spelled these right. They are about a month old.
