Week Old chick with 2 broken toes!!!!!

Hello! I got 5 partridge wyandotte chicks for easter today from my mom. I have bought from this breeder before and have had no problems. Apparently my mom got the two days ago but when I was watching them I noticed one of then had two toes bent the wrong way. It seems to be broken at the knuckles, which are swollen. My mom says that they looked weird when she got them, bu she didn't know (I take care of the chickens entirely, so she has no experience). She walks fine still. I got pipe cleaners to try and splint it, but I am afraid that I will do it wrong. I was planning on showing them when they are big enough, but I don't ind if the toes are crooked so I can't. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So I made a sandal for it because I read that this is the best thing that you can do for it. I cut a bottom out ofa ceareal box and then formed a pipe cleaner into the shape. Then i lined it all up and used tape and Vet Wrap to secure it on. Is this right? I read about it some before I did it. Here is a picture:

TheChicken Chick.com has some good advice on treating crooked toes. It looks like you are doing a good job. Crooked toes in chicks is very common, and can be corrected with early intervention as you are doing. Vitamins in the water may help.

Thank You! Actually, I got the sandal idea from The Chicken Chick. I love her site. I changed the sandal a few minutes ago because it was wet and I was afraid that she would get too cold. I got some electrolytes to put in their water because I read that it would help her cope with the stress. I also put some clean gravel in the water dish so she won't drown it it because she has no traction. Am I doing everything right?
 
Sounds like you are doing a great job. Most electrolytes for chickens contain vitamins, and that is good for chicks with foot and toe problems.
