My silkie (Elsa) went broody last week.
So I had a white plymouth rock rooster and her a black silkie and some other hens.
but I ended up having to give the rooster away because he was aggressive to me and the other hens.
but two weeks later her eggs were still fertile so I just slipped 5 under her and waited...and waited and THEN..
all the eggs died or were not fertile. So today I went to the feed store and bought to chicks a black Astrolaurp excuse me
if I wrote it wrong. So I will keep you updated everyday or two until they are laying or a bit longer.

Good luck with your chicks! Are you going to let the mum raise them? I personally do this as it saves time and effort if they were in a brooder, also are you a first time hatcher? Is love to see some pics

Yes I am going to let her raise them. Yesterday was really good the two are still alive. I will definitely post some pics either today or tomorrow. Its so cute they hide under her fluff.
