I have only ever bought chicks and have no idea how to hatch my own. Where do you even begin?? I have 11 hens now and 6 baby chicks and im sure at least 1 will be a rooster.

Have you looked at incubators yet? DON'T buy the Little Giant 9300.Incubate myself probably even tho my silkie and my australorp are always broody

I agree. Depends on your price range. If you can afford the Brinsea, they are highly recommended bators. Pricey for the lower capacity. I'd recommend the hovabator 1588 or 1583 They both have the picture window , but the 1588 is digital control and the 1583 is not. The 1588 runs about $150 w/o turner, the 1583 is about $105. I have the turner, but I prefer to hand turn. If you want the turner you can figure about another $50. Hovabator has some older models that are cheaper as well that have good reviews.Depends on your price range.
