Homemade Feeder, Need Help On Water

So I made a homemade feeder, a small, long rectangle box I cut a long rectangle for the chicks to eat out of. They enjoy the feeder, but their water bowl needs improvement. It's just a small red lid that can't hold much, but it's the only thing small enough to give the chicks space to run. They jump and sit on their water bowl and I tried putting on a cup like other homemade waters, but I don't have superglue or a hot glue gun. Is there a way I can make a good waterer without needing to spend any money

It is actually very easy to make a waterer. Your red cap will work fine. You also need to find the thinnest plastic bottle you can find (I used a small juice bottle from my girls, a yogurt cup with a lid would work too) you need to find something that fits inside the red lid and gives enough room to allow a space for the birds to drink.
Cut holes in the bottom side of the bottle and glue the bottle to the red lid. Fill the bottle with water and replace the cap on the bottle quickly. The water will fill the red lid but not go any higher then where you cut the holes.

Great tip OrganicFarmWife!, Featherybird, I like your way of thinking to spend as little money as possible! That's how I think too.

Not sure why it needs to be glued. I use the bottom of a planter and juice jug with few holes on side where I want the water level to be in dish. Just sit it in the dish, it wont float as there is a tower of water weight holding it down. We're not bedazzling here just having a water dispenser for chickens.

Not any more creative but I suspend a small soda bottle with a nipple feeder fixed to the screw top for my chicks - no space taken n no mess
