Please help! HURT DUCK

I'm very glad to hear she's doing better. I think its great that you rehabilitated her yourself. I am curious though, do you plan to clip her wings and keep her? If she gets well enough, she will most likely fly off when she feels ready. Clipping her wings would keep her there with you and her new friend, but would also deny her freedom. It's a hard choice to make.

No Daisy sadly still doesn't like to to be held, but she knows we are the ones with the food so she will walk over to us! Lol she has actually made daffy, the little duck more wild now. He used to love to be held but now he like to run away from me with her. I think they enjoy running from me because the quack while they're doing it and it sounds like they're laughing at me! They're so silly.

We are planning on clipping her wings because we don't want her to fly away because even though she can walk, she has a limp and I don't want her being an easy target out on her own. The vet said it would be better to always have her in a safe place. Because of all the stress from her injury she lost all of her tail feathers and feathers around her wings so the vet said we need to wait for all of her feathers to grow back before we clip them. She seems a lot happier now that she had a friend so as long as she and the other duck are happy we will keep them with us. :)

Here's their little "house" for when they are left alone. When we are home they can freely walk around the yard.

That is a great set up for your ducks! Did you make it yourself? If so, can I ask about how much your materials cost? It looks like it's light weight that you could move around your yard if needed to keep grass available for them.

Do you have a secure place to put them at night? I am just wondering because my ducks have been killed by predators and I don't want that to happen to you!! Make sure at night they are in a secure place so they can be safe from predators at night!!
