While on a walk around the pond in my neighborhood I found a feamale duck with two broken legs. We out her in a big plastic container with thick blanks lining the bottom of it. She's very calm and is now indoors with us. We tired 3 different 24/7 vet offices but non will see a duck. The wild life reduce people won't open until tomorrow AM. Does anyone have advice on what I should do? I've owned and raised 2 peken Ducks before so I'm not completely clueless when it comes to these animals. I've just never had to deal with angry one before.

Put her in a quiet semi dark room with food and water, and maybe a stuffed animal, and let her calm down and rest. Make sure the water and food is close enough for her to get to it without having to move to much. Give her space, since she's wild the presence of humans will freak her out. fight now just make sure she's comfortable.

Alright: we did those things. She's in the bathroom with the door shut (to keep out kitty away) she has water and some food. We had duckling food she hasn't seemed interested in it though or interested in drinking her water.

She's in pain right now and scared so she may not want eat or drink at the moment. Try putting stuff she'd eat in the wild in her water like some greens or if you have them oats.

She is likely in shock right now, and animals in shock do not tend to eat or drink.

Keeping her quiet, with food and drink available, is good.

You may want to think about something more natural for her, like Virus said.

Things are ok today. She's outside in the back yard sitting in the flower bed. She really seems to enjoy being outside and on the ground rather than the box we had for her. She drank some water too! We put some greens in the water and she ate some. We have an appointment made at a bird vet at 3:30. Hopefully they will be able to fix her leg. I'm just hopping she settles down. I'm not used to having a duck that so stand-offish. She doesn't like people and tried to bite me and my mom. She also hisses when we get close when we give her water. Makes me so sad! Hopefully she'll relize were nice people soon! I just want to scoop her up and love on her but I know she wouldn't go for that. Here's a picture of her sitting outside

Update- just got back for the vet. She has a fractur in her leg above her ankle and one in her wing. She will go to surgery this evening and will be staying over night to be looked over. We'll get to pick her up tomorrow afternoon! Hopefully all goes well.
