I have a 7 month old white Silkie that I thought started laying small light tan eggs two weeks ago, but today I caught my Blue Wyandotte on the nest and waited till she was done,and lo and behold she was the one laying the small tan egg. Such a small egg for such a big bird!! Now I'm wondering when and what my Silkie is going to lay!Anybody have any Idea?
 
It could be the silkie laying and the Wyandotte could have just been laying there and never laid HER egg ^^ She might have just been trying out the nest! Silkies should lay small bantam sized white or cream eggs :3
 
Hurray! I finally caught my silkie on the nest, with a Golden Star, and I ran out there as soon as they moved off the nest, and now I know for sure what egg she is laying, It is very small , elongated, very light tan almost pink. I have 3 Goldens, 2 white leghorns, EE, Light Brahma, Blue Wyandotte and white silkie. Took me a while to sort out whose egg was whose. Still don't know if the Brahma is even laying though.
