Quails and chickens

Hi, I currently have 12 chickens. I am wanting to get some quail. So I'm going to build a separate pen and Coop in my yard and was wandering what's the safest distance from the chicken pen to quail pen to keep the quail safe from illness.

I had mine about 70 feet but didnt matter when i let the chickens out they ran straight under the quail pen to eat. They were all together for 2 years i never had a issue.

They can be right next to each other and they'll be fine. Issues i had were only when they were together and the feed and water get contaminated with poop. Or too much chicken poop on floor. Even if mixed...just need ample space and clean feed and water. I recommend separated.
