Stone tile around coop - safe? - Page 2

I was planning on doing something like this as well. I was watching someone on youtube and they did something like this along with getting live traps and it seemed to fix his problem.

I am not handy with tools either.  Bought an electric stapler - LOVE IT!  You can staple your wire mesh to the wood!!  It is pretty sturdy.

I would not suggest you bury the wire mesh - mine is just extended one foot from the coop and I put some sand on top and then lined stepping stones on top of that.  Have had no problem and we have MANY raccoon as I live on the river!  They are strong and clever, but tend to dig at the bottom of the coop where it touches the ground - haven't figured out that they should begin digging a foot away from where they want to enter.

Good luck, Pat Corona
