Very large lump on chicks

I have been raising chicks and chickens for a little over a year now, there is a very large lump on the side of a chicks chest. I am very doubtful that it is its crop. All the chicks in the brooder have it, but none as bad as this one. The lump is about the size of an egg, as if they swallowed an egg.

Why are you doubtful it is the crop?  Just from the description and the fact that multiple birds have it it sounds like the crop is the most liekly answer here.  Have you checked them first thing in the morning to see if the lump is decreased?  How does the lump feel when palpated?  Which side of the chest is the lump most on?  Can you take, and post, a photo of the birds so that we can see the lump?

Where are we going, and why are we in this hand basket?

Because it is very large, it looks like they swallowed an egg, what could be wrong with the crop. I knew it was the crop just not why it was so big.

Here is a pic of the major case, it fits firmly in your hand if you cup your hand.

That's definitely the crop.
