Black and White EE/Americana chicks gender question

Hi All - I have read a lot on this site about how black and white Easter Eggers/Americanas are males. Is this true? I just purchased three EE/Americanas below and one is black and white. Any insight? They are super cute! :)

They are super cute! The black/white ones will be male most of the time, but some do turn out to be female. Beautiful little chicks though!

I don't think your black chick is an Easter egger. It's got a straight comb and what looks like pink skin. I can't tell, does it have feathers on it's legs or is that just dark markings? Depending on where the birds came from, it could be an Australorp (clean legged) or possibly a Marans (feather legged).
 
There is no such thing as 'always' with Easter Eggers. Color is not an indicator of gender. Both male and females can be any color. Last chick doesn't look like a typical Easter Egger. And there is no EE/Americana. Easter Eggers are Easter Eggers. Ameraucana are Ameraucana. Two different things and the names are not interchangeable.
 
Thanks for the information. The breeder from here in Nebraska where I live and purchased these three called her's Americanas instead of Ameruacana. She purposely spelled it that way too. I thought the same thing you stated till she told me that when i purchased them. I had been looking for a local Ameruacana chick breeder to add to my flock.

The last one I think might be a Black Copper Maran as she does breed those and this one was left from her previous weekend hatching.

The intentional misspelling of Ameraucana is a marketing ploy used by 'backyard' breeders and hatcheries alike, to take advantage of uninformed buyers. It's lying. And it just furthers the 'Is it an Easter Egger' confusion.
Easter Eggers are beautiful birds that make a great addition to any flock. They deserve their own distinction, not be constantly passed off as something else.
