Mass on duckling's head

We recently got a few more ducklings and one of the kind of has a weird little growth on his head.

Has anyone seen this before? I plan on taking him to the vet but I don't know at all what I'm looking at.

It looks like a very small second crest, but in a not so great location.

I have read that sometimes there are little clusters of feathers, almost a feather-cyst, than can occur. The vet is a good idea.
