Upstate NY
Hello Everyone!

I've been reading posts here for quite some time, and have decided to join this awesome community.

We are the proud parents of five EE "pullets" that are about 3 weeks old.

We live on 5 acres in Upstate NY, with our two kids and 3 dogs.

We enjoy camping, gardening, and running the kids everywhere.

I'm looking forward to be part of this community.

Welcome! :frow

Easter Eggers are a great breed. They have wonderfully docile dispositions and most of the time they don't all look the same, making them easy to tell apart. The blue, green (or even pink) eggs are certainly an added bonus!
I'm sure your family will get a kick out of the "easter eggs" in the nests once your girls are old enough to lay! :)

Good luck to you and your family!

There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around the run. I always wanted to get some. But they aren't available in my small town. Pictures! Lots of pictures! Lol! :)

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area, which can be helpful (just type the name of your state in the search box).

All the best

Hello from a fellow Upstate NY chicken mama!
We have 5 acres with a beautiful pond. We grow veggies, fruit and flowers.
It's me, my hubby, 2 young adult children, 3 indoor spoiled rotten cats, 15 pigs, 9 laying hens, 1 senior coop mama (she doesn't lay eggs anymore) and we just got our Spring batch of 30 chicks.
We work all day and cannot wait to get home to watch "chicken t.v." We really enjoy watching them while they forage all over our farm.
We love our girls and they are spoiled! I have a small egg business, selling to my co-workers and my hubby's co-workers.
For us, country life is the only life :)

Awesome to see another Upstate NY Momma. I'm happy to have such a great resource!
