Are the baby chicks suppose to sleep like this?

So I just got 2 baby chicks from my hatchery today. One of them is a day old Ameraucana and the other is I think 1 week old Amber White. So when I bought them home which is like 5 or less or a little more miles away from my house, I saw both of them trying to sleep. The head is like going down and eyes starting to close. They peep very loud when I bought them home but now they're quiet. How's baby chicks suppose to sleep?

Yea I think they're warm enough. Is like 70 degrees or more in the house and outside is 64 and tomorrow is 71 outside. So yea, I'm officially sweating. :D is it normal for 1 day old chicks to walk but can't keep their balance right still because mine when is stand up and walk, sometimes it loses its balance. I think it hatch yesterday or earlier today.
 
They are supposed to have an area to warm up that is 85-90 during the first week. Are u saying they are being kept at only 70 degrees at 1 day old?
 
I think is one day old. Or two. But they will survive because last year when I got my RIR and Buff Orpington hens (already grown-up now and started laying), it was in February and it was freezing outside with no heat lamp but they are inside my house in a box with the lid open, 2-3 weeks old, and really warm in the house. I still have the thermostat on warm/hot because is cold in the morning but warm inside.
 
Well ok..but ive known many chicks to die from being kept too cool during the first week. Just saying
 
70 is warm for humans but chicks need 90 degrees their first week then 85 their second week, 80 the 3rd week etc. You were lucky your last chicks survived. Please put a heating pad in with them and get a heat lamp as soon as you can! Good luck!
 
Are day or two old chicks suppose to sleep a lot more then growing to adult like a human baby?
 
Yes they nap more frequently. But no one is going to be able to tell you if the sleeping you're noticing from yours is normal...because they are frankly being kept too cold. So to answer you, yes they sleep alot. Yours could be simply napping, or they could be failing.
