Are the baby chicks suppose to sleep like this?

When I have chicks to integrate into the flock, what I have done is to pen the chicks outside in a wire dog crate, and when the older birds are ranging they get the chance to see the newcomers(and steal some of their food through the wire

). Then when the chicks are older, I have put them in the pen with the pop door into the coop closed, and left the coop door open, so chicks can't get loose or into the coop, and older birds have access to the nest boxes but not to chicks. Eventually I let them have access to each other, but some fighting is inevitable as they sort out their new pecking order. You just need to watch and make sure nobody really gets hurt, and make sure older birds aren't keeping younger birds away from food and water.

Thanks!

But I'm just concerned about the rooster collar. I've heard bad and good news and the bad news is their roosters choke or somehow died from it and the good news is they have good experience with it. I just don't know which side to take. I found these reviews on Amazon.
Unfortunately I do not think you will get a yes or no answer to the collar. It really depends on the user and the chicken which is why the reviews on Amazon etc are so different.
I have never personally owned one as I am allowed to keep roosters but if I needed to I would give it a try. Just make sure you read all instructions carefully and understand them and make sure you can watch the bird for awhile when first using it that way if there is a problem you maybe able to fix it before it gets to bad.
If your still not sure about the collar you can always try and rehome the rooster but fingers crossed you are worried for nothing and it turns out to be a pullet.

If your law says no best to stay clear of owning one. It would be sad to have a best buddy and then have to give him away. I had to give my rooster away and he was amazing so sweet cuddle bug broke my heart but it was for the better

Now there is one thing that isn't like baby chickens related but I don't want to create a ton of threads or else that's spamming so why not you guys answer one or two of the questions I have now urgently. So I fed 2 cherries for 3 of my adult chickens and I know the pit I toxic (full of cyanide, 1 can't harm you) but 1 of the hens ate 1 of the cherry whole and ate another. I'm just worry they might get cyanide poisoning. And also, my Ameraucana chick is now good and both of 2 of my chicks are now reaching the weeks where they can stand 60-65 degrees. But my Ameraucana chick has dark feathers from the comb to halfway the neck. I don't know if it's dried blood (doesn't look like it or red in it) but I'm just wondering what breed is it. I'll give pictures tomorrow because is night over here and don't want to disturb them.

Go ahead and start other threads. It isn't spamming it is being active in the BYC community. Spamming is creating multiple threads about the same topic.
I do not think you need to worry about your chicken, most likely the pit will pass through the bird whole. You need to break the pit for it to be an issue.
