This is my first time trying to incubate eggs, so some of these questions might seem basic or silly. I have purchased the pro series digital circulated air incubator with automatic egg turner. I have been reading some of the other forums, and I saw that it is suggested that eggs can stop being turned on day 18...so does that mean to turn off the automatic egg turner? And just leave the eggs sitting in the automatic turner?
Another question, on this particular incubator, it seems the automatic egg turner has to be removed if the water resorvoir requires refilling. Is this correct? It seems this would be a major pain if your egg turner is filled with 41 eggs.
Another question, I'n not sure about is on day 21, when the eggs start hatching, how long do you wait to remove the chicks that have hatched? I read one thread where it took 40 hours for the eggs to all hatch. I guess I'm asking will the chicks that hatch easily be safe to leave in the incubator until the other eggs hatch? These are just a few of the questions that I did not draw a firm conclusion about.
Any tips or suggestions for this newbie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us. Sadly, i am not able to help you as i have never used an incubator. I would suggest re-posting your questions in the "Incubating and Hatching Eggs" forum for the greatest number of responses.

I wish you all the best

In addition to the incubating/hatching forum, there is a lot of information on that in the Learning Center:

Good luck!

Welcome, you leave the chicks in till they are dry and fluffy. From day 18 on you shouldn't open your incubator if you can help it.

If you have a large hatch you can get in there and take some out but hey usually don't need food or water for about 3 days after hatch, so there is no rush to get them out.

Check out the learning center, all the info and more is right there.
