NOTE: These are mixes. I'll post what mixes above each picture with the chicks name. The coloring is probably mute for all but the pure BR, as I guess the double barring gene wouldn't pass on. I'm asking as far as comb/waddles and redness. First I'll post my positive males to give a comparison, and then the others for opinions.

Buff Orp/BR - Fervent. My definite male.

White EE/BR - Mangle. My definite male.

Pure BR - Zebra. Due to be rehomed.

So, now for the questionables...

Pure BR - Minda. I keep telling my husband that it's a male, he won't believe me. The coloring alone tells me male, but he says the comb isn't as red as the above boys.

Buff Orp/BR - Chicka.

White EE/BR - Twilight

RIR/BR - Ooccoo

Black Australorp/BR -Goron &Navi

Thanks! That's my hope. I went through a long sad few weeks, thinking I was going to have a hatch rate of nothing but boys, but the bigger they get and the how small these last ones' combs are staying are starting to give me hope! Especially compared to my definite boys.

Your welcome!! I had the same problem thinking I got all but 3 roosters in one of my flocks of 6 chicks.. But now at 8 weeks old I found out I have all girls!! What a miracle that was!! :) It is always confusing at first, but as they get older it is SO much easier to tell. I say even if you only got 1 pullet in a flock it is still better than all roosters.. Boy what a mess you would be in if you get all roo's.:barnie

Good luck with your flock!! :)
