Made a friend who favors Barnies and she gave me a roo that was getting beat up by some of her geese. Beautiful birds with a lot of plumage variations. I've had trouble finding a picture of a Barnevelder roo that looks like Thenardier (the missing tail feathers don't help).
There are so many variations and it seems he's fairly uncommon. I finally found a few pictures online that he matches. If you pin some dark tail feathers on him, he looks to be at least half Blue Laced. He is a complete wuss so far and won't leave the fenced garden to roam with our Australorp hens, so far.
