Natural wormer experiment - if you have a duck or chicken with worms come to this thread

The picture posted is just for coccidia (Eimeria)! Those aren't even the worms!

I have my textbooks; but I do not feel comfortable scanning the pages. In lieau of that, here are some worms for you to look up.
I could bore you with the scientific names, but just as a generality, look up these worms and their respective eggs:
Trematodes, nematodes, capillaria, tetrameres, acanthocephala.

If you are looking for a great resource, at the medical level I would highly recommend an older version of Diseases of Poultry or Manual of Poultry Diseases. These are two resources I use frequently for my work. I will give the caveat, diseases do not read the book. Please remember that with all advice you get on this site, including what I am saying.

"I've been trying to get some good pictures (without much luck).
Here is one. I love these - easy to identify!
Everything below is from fecal smears, some stained.

But then there are these UFOs...none as good as KSKingBee's microscopic exploding pea..
Quote:

Somebody's cyst...

This is a smear from a cloacal swab - poor bird!

Higher magnification of above

another shot - maybe the big one is a Giardia cyst...

There were lots of these little green football-like things with no obvious internal structure....
They are on a background of rod-type things

This is a clearer view of the rod-type things. Yeast perhaps?

Here's an iodine stain of them

This is a gram stain of a cecal poop smear. All the
stained things in this photo are much smaller than the rods above.
I'm hoping these might be from the probiotics...."

I'm gonna have to look into getting those, especially the one that has so many contributions from H.L. Shivaprasad.

Sorry if I confused the issue by posting a picture of the different coccidia... Guess I was just getting ahead of myself, but I figured that since many people try to treat coccidia with ACV, garlic, etc, thought it would be a good idea to have it.
