Hi, I called Tractor Supply and they said I can bring my chicks outside once they are fully feathered. Is this true? I read on here that people let their chicks out for a couple minutes. Can they go out for a couple minutes?

It's also a little breezy. Would that matter? It's 70F partly cloudy.

Mine are about 4-5 weeks old and mostly feathered. I put them out in a dog crate where I could keep a close eye on them and it was only 60 out. Ive been told as long as theyre not acting like theyre cold theyll be good outside for a little while.

Mine are not feathered yet. They're about 1.5 to 2 weeks old. Is that fine?

Small feild trips at 2 weeks old is fine as long as it is not windy and cold. I took mine out for 30 min today. Normally by 5 to 6 weeks.old is when they have enough feathers to stay outside as long as Temps are decent. I put mine out at 5 weeks with the ecoglow incase and they didn't really use it often and we're fine. Temps would get as low as 45 at night

Is it fine if it's a little breezy? I don't want to freeze them.

The sun is shining and a little windy. Not a great idea, right? Because of the wind...

Just take them out. Watch how they act and bring them in when it seems they've had enough.
Mine have been outside 24/7 since 1.5 weeks. Lamp in the kennel if needed. They explored the yard w me watching them for a bit as long as it wasn't raining
