hi I am new to this site. I have had chickens and ducks for about a year. I am hatching our new set of chicks and ducks right now and I have a question for all of you experts. I just had a chick hatch and it has a turquoise bluish color on its

bottom. I have never seen this before. Anyone have any answers ?

I've never seen that before but hopefully another greeter will come along that can explain. Did the chick hatch in an incubator? Maybe there was something blue colored in that?

Hello!
400

Welcome to BYC and the coop! There's a lot of great peeps here! Feel free to ask lots of questions. But most of all, make yourself at home. I'm so glad you decided to join the BYC family. I look forward to seeing you around BYC. Me neither, but did you have them on news paper? It could be color transfer.

Hi and welcome to BYC - great to have you onboard

The Learning Centre is a great resource, even for experienced chicken keepers - loads of info on anything chicken. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

Joining your state thread may be useful as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - just type the name of your state in the search box.

All the best
