Hi all
I've kept between 10-15 chickens for nearly two years now and this is my first time dealing with any illness. One hen presented with a bubbly, clear watery eye that cleared up the next day. But then another hen had it, then two more today. The first one still seems back to normal. Is this respiratory illness? If so, how do I know which one?

Must mention - I brought home 5 nearly 2 year old hens that I found on Craigslist ten days before this started. :( Guy seemed honest....said they didn't fit with his new breeding program....

What do you think?

It could definitely be a respiratory infection which can come from new birds or wild birds or just because... My first step of any treatment.. now... granted.. I dont do antibiotics and stuff is to separate the sick hens and make sure they are warm enough and feed them Gatorade.. and then I just watch them. Good luck.. Make sure that you seperate new birds for a long while before you introduce them to your flock.. during a big move is when sicknesses come out in the chickens. gooooood luck.
