I am no expert on mini goats. I can give you a formula that was designed by a breeder of mini goats. You take a gallon jug of store milk, pour off about a quart, add one can of evaporated milk and one cup of buttermilk to the jug. shake it up and then fill the jug back up with some of the milk you poured off. Mini goats and Boers produce a richer milk than dairy goats so this formula takes that into account. Your baby needs to be vaccinated for tetanus and enterotoxemia (clostridium perfingens). Get a vial of CD/T and a couple of syringes from the feed store or livestock supply. He should be starting to eat hay and grain by now. Most people wean their kids at between eight and twelve weeks of age.

You need to feed based on weight. Weigh him and use this chart to ensure he is not being underfed. At this point, you are feeding so little for a five week old ND, that it may be the case if he is the size of a normal ND kid of that age.

As he grows, obviously the amount he needs to eat goes up.
