We have a couple of hens that were purchased a couple of years ago labeled as "White Production". They are all white with a few faint gray/black specks. Is that a general term and is there any way to know exactly what breed they are?

Most likely they were what is also known as a "California White" - because they are actually crosses rather than an actual breed they can sometimes be called different names by different hatcheries.

Thanks, y'all! After looking at pictures and descriptions of the California White I believe you are correct. They are wonderful and lay really large eggs!
